There should be lots of people there who can help you. I like to read Jeanette Fulda's blog www.pastaqueen.com and she had her first book published this year, and has been fortunate to promote it on national tv. She has written a lot about her experience with the book. Even getting to know the owners of your local independant bookstores can be helpful. I can't see how you would regret writing a book, nor how you wouldn't regret it if you didn't give it a go. You can do this, Marybeth! Check out your local writer’s clubs/groups. There should be lots of people there who can help you.
